Emma Thatcher is a set and costume designer as well as a sculptor and prop-maker. With a background in fine art she has worked on a range of different projects including installation art, puppetry, doll-making, mask-making, costume and set design for theatre.

Notable work to date is the Set Design for The Dolls House at Space, including a suspended installation which transformed the space and was nominated for Best Set Design 2010 by Off-Westend.com and also the set and costume design for the surrealist play What Lovely Weather by Andre Breton performed at The Barbican as part of their Surreal House exhibition.

Previous work has included an installation of life-sized figures and dolls for The New Players Theatre throughout their run of Infinite Variety; costume and set design for Smoke and Pearls, a one-woman show and costume and masks for the contemporary dance piece Crossing Chaos at Camden People’s Theatre. Her art work has also been featured in galleries and the press notably - Love Bird sculptures for Elevator Gallery and Fashion Puppets - a commission for the fashion magazine Pop.
